CLTX Gaming player Sheriff “FT” Cruz to participate in HBCU Esports Holiday Showdown

CLTX Gaming player Sheriff “FT” Cruz was selected to participate in HBCU Esports Holiday Showdown on Wednesday, December 16th. The Showdown will be hosted by HBCU Heroes, an organization that aims to level the playing field for HBCU sports programs. It will feature former NBA players and current professional athletics. Cruz will face-off against Chicago Bears Running Back, Tarik Cohen in a series of quick-play 1v1 games on NBA2K.

“I feel blessed to be a part of this amazing tournament and can’t wait to showcase my talent,” said Cruz. “I feel like my matchup is going to go well. I’m in my element so I feel like I have the upper hand.”

Cruz will be playing on behalf of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. The winner of the matchup will have a monetary donation submitted on their behalf to their chosen college.

Speaking on the opportunity to play in this tournament Cruz said “It means everything to me, I can’t wait to get playing, I’m so excited.”

The showcase will be broadcast live on the HBCU Heroes Twitch and Facebook channels at 2 pm/ET on Wednesday, December 16th.
